Nagpur Violence: Massive unrest erupted in Nagpur on Monday following protests over the removal of Aurangzeb’s grave from Maharashtra’s Sambhaji Nagar. In response, authorities imposed a curfew in several police station limits, including Kotwali, Ganeshpeth, Lakadganj, Pachpaoli, Shantinagar, Sakkardara, Nandanvan, Imamwada, Yashodhara Nagar and Kapil Nagar, after a mob went on a rampage, damaging vehicles and hurling stones. Police were attacked following rumours that a religious text had been desecrated during a protest by a right-wing group.

Notably, Hindu outfits have threatened to initiate a Babri-like movement to have Aurangzeb’s tomb removed, which is located about 30 kilometers from Sambhajinagar, in Khuldabad.
